Some things are cause for celebration. The Hennessey High School girls cross country team will have a send-off down Main Street at 10 a.m. this Saturday. That’s because the Lady Eagles will be headed to state for the first time in four seasons.

Ball hog Hennessey wins 2nd straight

Earlier this season, Hennessey got its first win in almost two years. Now the Eagles have their first official win streak since 2017. With the exception of two plays, Hennessey dominated Alva in every aspect of the game last Friday and left town with a 17-14 victory.

Tigers continue winning ways

Hunter Wilmoth did a lot on offense and his fair share on defense as Crescent racked up yet another win. The Tigers downed Oklahoma Christian Academy 22-8 in Edmond last Thursday night to move to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in District A-3.

A six-man, six-woman Kingfisher County jury deliberated just an hour and 12 minutes Wednesday before convicting a Kingfisher man of assault and battery with a deadly weapon in the October 2018 shooting of his brother-in-law.
