Blocked XP denies Hennessey

Hennessey got its first offensive touchdown of the season Friday in Hinton. Two, in fact. That, however, didn’t result in the Eagles’ first win. Hinton blocked an extra-point attempt with 4:33 remaining to claim a 14-13 victory over the visiting Eagles. Hennessey dropped to 0-2 with the loss.

Double treat: Rain plus rainbows

Board taps Cangiano as interim Hennessey police chief

Hennessey Police Chief Hank Weber’s resignation was accepted by the town board then named Assistant Police Chief Ed Cangiano as interim chief in a special meeting Thursday morning. Weber, a 1988 Hennessey High School graduate, returned to his hometown as police chief in August 2009.

Inmate, jailer test positive for COVID-19

Kingfisher County Sheriff Dennis Banther reported that an inmate and staff member tested positive for COVID-19 last week, the first cases of the virus in the county jail. The inmate was tested after running a fever and the diagnosis was confirmed Wednesday, Banther said.
