Scott Maschino

Scott Christopher Maschino entered this world on May 22, 1969, in Okarche, the son of Jerome and Carholine Maschino. He was baptized at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and graduated from Okarche High School in 1988. After graduating, Scott moved to Houston, Texas, to go to school for mechanics.

Scrambling for Solutions

Nowhere to go and not much time to get there. As contradictory as the statement may sound, that’s essentially what the staff of Kingfisher County Department of Human Services is facing. The DHS staff has to be out of the office it leases on the south end of Kingfisher by June 19.

Candidate forum this Thursday

Local voters will have the opportunity to meet the candidates behind some of the names that will appear on upcoming ballots at a free forum at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Kingfisher Heritage School auditorium.

So far, so good: Harvest quality, yields still high

The 2020 Kingfisher County wheat harvest is on the downhill run – and it’s been great. Not only has the weather been ideal for harvest – sunny and dry – but yields and quality have been exceptional. Elevator operators countywide indicated the harvest was half complete or more by Monday.

City OKs ‘slim’ budget, but CM still optimistic

Although Kingfisher city commissioners approved a fiscal year 20-21 budget that City Manager Dave Slezickey described as “slim” Monday night, the mood at the first in-person meeting since March was cautiously optimistic.

Melvina Kay (Liebl) Lochner died peacefully in her sleep on June 2, 2020, in Atlanta, Ga. Mel was born Oct. 14, 1943, in Enid to August “Gus” and Hildred “Midge” (Davis) Liebl and had one older brother, Robert “Bob” Liebl.

Billie Dolores Bullard Lovell died Monday, June 1, 2020, at her home in Hennessey. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at First United Methodist Church in Hennessey officiated by Rev. P.J. Stewart. Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

WILDCATS INVADE BRICKTOWN BALLPARK

The Cashion High School Class of 2020 ensured it had ample space for social distancing when its graduation ceremony was held June 3 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City. The ballpark is home to the Oklahoma City Dodgers minor league baseball team.
