When the OSSAA was forced to postpone the state basketball tournaments two weeks ago, there was guarded optimism that champions would eventually be crowned. That optimism was shut down Thursday.

With a vote on Thursday, the high school sports careers of thousands of Oklahoma seniors came crashing to a halt. The OSSAA board of directors voted unanimously to cancel the 2020 spring sports season in the state.

The conference has a new name with new teams, but was still dominated by the Kingfisher High School boys in the regular season and in postseason honors.

Senior Jenni Beebe was named to the girls’ first team when Western Athletic Conference coaches voted for the all-conference team. Beebe, an Oklahoma Baptist University signee, averaged 9.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals. Rayland Garner was selected to the second team.
