(The Daily Signal) The scope of the coronavirus outbreak is expanding, but it’s vital for U.S. policymakers and citizens to act rationally, work together, and keep what’s happening in proper context.

Kingfisher Band Director Mandy Owens came away pleased with her high school group after a strong showing at the 2020 OSSAA district concert and sight-reading contest.

The Lomega High School and “froshmore” academic team recently competed in the Oklahoma Association for Academic Competition Online Team Tournament. The team earned runner-up in social studies in high school Division I.

Theta Tau chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha met Jan. 20, in the BancFirst community room. President Dana Terrell conducted the meeting and Terri Stake and Karen Castonguay served as hostesses. Members will be making cinnamon rolls during the week of March 23-27. Orders will be due March 20.

As the Kingfisher High School school year enters its fourth quarter it is time for the KHS Photography Staff to “pass the torch” to the next generation of leadership.

Kingfisher High School seniors Daken Milligan and Jackson Leffingwell were guests last week of the Kingfisher Rotary Club. Milligan is the son of Stephanie Alexander and Kelly Milligan. He’s active in band and was the drum major and drumline captain.

Kingfisher High School alumnus Kurt Bollenbach, right, was the guest speaker recently at the March meeting of the Kingfisher Retired Educators. Bollenbach is currently a member of the state Board of Education. He was introduced by program chairperson Nancy Teders, left.

The House this week passed legislation that would grant a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) to state retirees in six of the state’s pension plans. House Bill 3350 passed 99-0.

It sure looks like Joe Biden will be the democrat nominee for president, you take note, I didn’t say candidate, I don’t think Biden fits that category. There’s a joke going around, Hillary will be his running mate as vice president.
