The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: February 28 - Fraudulent bill of lading. Officer Dillon Chaloupek responded to a report of alleged fraud at O’Reilly Auto Parts, 1301 S. Main St.

Monday is date for assessment

County Assessor Carolyn Mulherin reminded Friday that Monday is the deadline to claim homestead exemptions and to assess property for 2020 tax purposes. Homeowners must have been living in the residence on Jan. 1 and the deed filed by Feb. 1 of the year for which an exemption is claimed.

David Wittrock

David Joseph Wittrock was born Aug. 31, 1954, in Oklahoma City to Herbert Joseph and Margie Lou (Yost) Wittrock. He passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, March 10, 2020, at the age of 65.

Keith Schemmer

Keith Edward Schemmer of Kingfisher, 66, died at home on Feb. 18, 2020. He was born in Kingfisher on June 8, 1953, to Frederick and Mary Jane (Mackey) Schemmer. He graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1971.

KHS baseball earns District 4A-1 sweeps to open season

Coming off a season in which it won its first-ever district championship, the Kingfisher baseball team already has a pair of district sweeps under its belt in 2020. The Jackets have dominated a pair of 4A-1 foes, the most recent being on the road at Seminole last Tuesday.

STATE CHAMPS - AGAIN

Lomega reigned supreme at State Fair Arena once again. The Lady Raiders downed sixth-ranked and defending champion Vamum 69-54 last Saturday to claim the Class B girls state championship. The title was the 14th for Lomega, which adds to a record it already held.
