Lady Wildcats get offensive in road victory

Cashion and Wellston scored at a torrid pace in the first quarter of their girls basketball game last Friday night. Only one of them kept it up. The visiting Lady Wildcats put the defensive clamps on Wellston over the final three quarters to earn a 79-37 victory.

Parking bids ok’d

Contracts were awarded Wednesday for the first phase of a project that will eventually lead to a new seventh and eighth grade center for Kingfisher Public Schools.
WORK TO BEGIN soon on a new parking lot on the Kingfi sher High School campus (indicated by red arrow, above) to replace existing parking that will be lost in the construction of the 7th & 8th Grade Center.

Improvement plan is priority for KPS admin

MAKING THE GRADE Even before the state released the Oklahoma School Report Cards, administrators and staff at Kingfi sher Public Schools were at work on plans to continually improve the district from the youngest grades to the oldest.

Woods rehired at HPS

Hennessey Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Mike Woods was rehired for the 2020-21 school year at last Tuesday’s school board meeting after 90 minutes in closed session. Action on his pay and contract will come later.

OK scholarships now available

The Oklahoma Scholarship Competition provides an opportunity for Oklahoma high school students to earn cash scholarships and tuition grants for college. With at least 19 scholarships in each county available, students compete based on their knowledge of Oklahoma history, its people and geography.
