Hennessey Lions Club’s Fall Festival is Saturday

Carnival games and a Crock Pot Cookoff are scheduled for a Fall Festival from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Hennessey Elementary School.It will also feature pumpkin carving and costume contests.

Okarche to defend one-act play state title

For the eighth consecutive time, the Okarche High School speech team has advanced to the state one-act play contest. This year’s production of “The Insanity of Mary Girard” qualified for the state competition by placing at one of three regional competitions held earlier in October.

Extension to host course on finances

Kingfisher County Extension will host a financial course early next month.“Check and Balance” will be from 1-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the Extension Office.This program will teach participants how to manage their expenses and how to become more financially secure.

KHS earns spots at state XC meet

Ashtin Witt had never medaled in a regional meet. Until Saturday, that is. The Kingfisher High School senior ran to a 12th place finish at the Class 4A girls cross country regional championship held in Enid.

Lomega boys, Individual girls qualify for state XC meet

The Lomega boys will be among the field in the Class 2A state cross country meet. The Raiders were third at their regional last Saturday in Enid. Lomega had 125 points. Mooreland won it with 32 and Hooker was second with 75. Lomega edged Hammon’s 128 points.

4 Lady Jackets tabbed softball all-conference

Four Kingfisher High School softball players earned the chance to compete in one more game earlier this month. Macy McCully, Kaycee Karcher, Olivia Wilcox and Mia Farrell were chosen to the 2019 Tri-County Softball Conference all-conference team. They played Oct.
