Electric coop meeting set

Food, entertainment and prizes are in store for Cimarron Electric Cooperative members who attend the annual meeting Thursday night at the Kingfisher County Fairground Exhibit Building. Doors open at 5 p.m. and a free barbecue dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m.

KPS OKs $18.1 million estimated needs

With the fate of a potential seventh and eighth grade center looming with the next day’s bond election, Kingfisher’s board of education on Monday night was business as usual at its regular September meeting.

Blood drives scheduled this week at Mercy, Christian Church in Kingfisher

It’s time to kick off football season and the Bedlam Blood Battle, featuring your favorite coaches on new Bedlam-themed t-shirts, free for Oklahoma Blood Institute blood donors. Healthy adults, age 16 and older, can give blood at one of the following drives: • Mercy Hospital Kingfisher, 1-5 p.m.

4 KHS seniors are guests at Rotary meeting

Tristion Armstrong, Joseph Harris, Zavior Leniger and Bryce Hawk were guests last week of the Kingfisher Rotary Club. The four are seniors this year at Kingfisher High School. Armstrong is the son of Leslie Armstrong. He is active in band and plans to be a video/movie designer.

KHS makes up ground at home meet

Kingfisher cross country coach Kerri Lafferty couldn’t help but be at least a little giddy on Saturday. In just one week, her cross country teams showed considerable improvement, most notably the reigning Class 4A state champion girls squad.

Tuttle outlasts Yellowjackets, 41-18

Perhaps the fate of Kingfisher’s much-anticipated football season opener with Tuttle was sealed on the first snap of the respective teams’ offenses.

Shutout the Devils

A slow offensive start against a team that’s going to almost exclusively run the ball doesn’t lend itself to an explosive football game on the scoreboard.
