Megan Gieser

Megan Hope Gieser was born Jan. 6, 1986, to Dewey Lynwood and Teresa Gail (Crissman) Johnson in Weatherford.   She passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at her home in Eakly at the age of 33.    Megan graduated from Hydro-Eakly High School where she was involved in basketball and softball.

Peggy Reherman

Peggy Ann Reherman (Francis) was born Jan. 27, 1936, and passed away Aug. 31, 2019.   Peggy married Harold Reherman in 1957. She attended the University of Oklahoma and was a sorority member of Alpha Chi Omega.

Waltman, Wittrock are Junior Lions

Kingfisher High School seniors Emma Waltman and Hayden Wittrock have been announced as the Junior Lions for September 2019. Waltman is the daughter of Melanie and Darren Waltman. She is active in drama, soccer, photography and is a football manager.

State fair entries readied

Kingfisher County entries in the Oklahoma City State Fair are being readied. The Oklahoma City fair, beginning Sept. 12 and ending Sept. 22, provides a showcase for livestock, crops, arts and crafts as well as 4-H and FFA program events.

SPECIAL ELECTION VOTING TO BEGIN

School bond issues in Kingfisher and Cashion and a town government reorganization initiative in Dover will be decided in a special election next Tuesday. Early voting starts Thursday and continues Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Kingfisher County Courthouse election board office.

Deputy’s killer gets LWOP

The convicted killer of Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy David Wade will spend the rest of his life in prison after a jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict on the death penalty last week.

Road projects to start

Kingfisher County commissioners approved notices to proceed on two asphalt overlay projects by Haskell Lemon Construction Co. based on low bids submitted earlier Tuesday at their weekly meeting. One project is in District 2 – NS 2830 Road from the Cimarron River Bridge north to S.H.
