Two county blood drives set this week

Oklahoma Blood Institute is planning two blood drives this week in Kingfisher County. The first will be held Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Hennessey Event Center, 600 N. Main St. It will be hosted from 2-7 p.m. OBI will host another drive from noon-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug.

Deadline this week to reserve county free fair booth space

The Kingfisher County Free Fair is coming soon, but the deadline to reserve booth space in the Exhibit Building is this week. To reserve space for the 2019 fair, contact the Kingfisher County Extension office by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9.

4-H serving steak sandwiches, hosting auction at county fair

Kingfisher County 4-H is hosting a fundraiser during the Kingfisher County Free Fair.The group will be serving ribeye steak sandwiches, chips, cookies and a drink for $10 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Exhibit Building.To-go boxes will be made available for pickup orders.

Bredel family holds 58th reunion

The 58th Bredel family reunion was held July 27 in the Interbank Community Room in Kingfisher. The reunion was hosted by Harold and Judy Bernhardt, Vernon Bernhardt and Kay Province.

Leonard Hollar Jr.

Leonard Ralph Hollar, Jr., 71, passed away Aug. 15, 2017, at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center Shreveport, La. He was born Aug. 4, 1946, in Enid to Leonard Ralph and Dora Margaret Moss Hollar. In 1954 the family moved from Covington to Kingfisher.
