Kelly Paul Smith, 73, died July 26, 2019, at Legend Assisted Living in Oklahoma City. Services were Tuesday, July 30, in the Benson Memorial Chapel in El Reno with Chaplain Miles Knutson officiating.   Burial was at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Okarche under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Susan Smith

Susan Stetson Smith, 89, of Omega, passed from this life to a better one July 25, 2019, in Enid. A service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Grace Mennonite Church in Enid. Sue was born on April 17, 1930, to Lottie and Ezra Stetson in Kewanee, Ill. She was the youngest of six children.

Otto Stover

Otto Bernhardt Stover, 97, passed away July 29, 2019, in Oklahoma City. He was born Oct. 5, 1921, to Henry and Kathrine Stover northwest of Piedmont.

Carol Kerby

Carol James Kerby was born in Cushing on Jan. 24, 1935, to Ray and Florence Culp James and died Friday July 26, 2019, at Hennessey Care Center. She was 84. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m.

Sixth Street Sinkhole

SIXTH STREET SINKHOLE — Paved and unpaved county roads weren’t the only byways to take a beating from May and June flooding. This surprise sinkhole opened up Tuesday afternoon on the 300 block of North Sixth Street in Kingfisher where the road base had washed away from under the pavement.

Encana has halted well completion activities on a two-square-mile pad development west of Kingfisher after a series of earthquakes rocked that area Wednesday and Thursday.
