Kingfisher High School seniors Morgan Snowden, Silvia Garcia, Tiffany Crawford and Madeline Loosen were guests at a recent Kingfisher Rotary Club meeting. Snowden is the daughter of Mark and Karen Snowden. She’s active in FCCLA, Business Professionals of America and Mercy Student Careers Council.

Oklahoma Blood Institute is planning a pair of local blood drives in the coming days. The drives are scheduled at:  • Cimarron Electric Cooperative, Tuesday, May 14, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. • Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Sunday, May 19, 8 a.m. to noon.

Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer Lynda Ozan announced that Oklahoma Centennial Farm Awards have been presented to the owners of two Kingfisher County farms. Terry Sedlak of Kingfisher owns Sedlak Farms located in the vicinity of Hennessey.

We have finally finished the book, “I Chose Freedom” written by Victor Kravchenko, the Russian government official who defected to the United States in the 1940s. Dr. James Gerber loaned the book to us.
