KHS golfers making return trip to 3A state tournament

Although the team didn’t close as strong as its coach would have liked, Kingfisher did more than enough a majority of Monday’s rounds to get back to state. Kingfisher fired rounds of 312 and 310 at the 3A boys golf regional at Purcell’s Brent Bruehl Memorial Golf Course.

RSU honors Vaughn Raney

Rogers State Athletics celebrated the 2018-19 academic and athletic year last week with its fourth annual Outstanding Moments in Athletics (OMAs) Award Show.  Among those honored was Cashion alumnus Vaughn Raney, left. He was named to the athletic department’s All-Academic team.

KHS soccer, Cashion baseball seasons end over the weekend

SPRING PLAYOFFS Kingfisher High School’s soccer teams saw their seasons come to an end in the playoffs last week. The KHS boys traveled to Madill Thursday night and were defeated 3-1. It was just the second playoff appearance in the program’s history.

Retired Educators to meet Wednesday

Kingfisher County Retired Educators will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Kingfisher Memorial Library.  Guest speaker will be Cosette Wymer, Northwest District director of  the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association.

Hennessey town-wide cleanup soon

Annual town-wide clean-up starts Friday in Hennessey. The Town of Hennessey’s annual town-wide cleanup starts Friday, April 26, and ends Sunday, May 5, said Tiffany Tillman, town administrator.

Millers to celebrate 25th Anniversary

Brian and Sharon Miller of Kingfisher will be honored on their 25th wedding anniversary. The come-and-go party will be 12-3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in the Gathering Room at First Baptist Church in Kingfisher. Lunch will be served at noon.

Through no fault of her own, Mackenzie Palmer saw her cheer career come to an abrupt end. After a stellar career on Kingfisher High School’s cheerleading team, she took her abilities to Shawnee’s St. Gregory’s University. All went well in her freshman year, but in the fall of 2017, St.

Play, Recite, Sing, Draw: 72nd Fine Arts Festival resumes here Monday

The artistic talents of the county’s youth will be on full display next week. The 72nd annual Kingfisher County Fine Arts Festival takes place Monday and Tuesday in three different county locations. Piano performances will be held Monday at the Kingfisher Heritage auditorium beginning at 9 a.m.
