It’s official, Kash Patel was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the new Director of the FBI. This appointment wasn’t without its challenges. Establishment Republicans, known in some circles as RINOs, showed their true colors with Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine opposing Patel’s confirmation. Every Democrat in the chamber also voted against him. To the surprise of many, Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky chose to support Patel, breaking ranks with his usual allies.
