Farmerettes gather for January meeting

The Hennessey Farmerettes, an Oklahoma Home and Community Education group, met at the Hennessey First Christian Church for its January meeting.Pansy Wheeler called the meeting to order. The flag salute was led by Paula Nicholson and Wheeler gave the devotion.

Okarche announces 1st semester honor rolls

Okarche Public Schools has announced junior high and high school students named to the honor rolls for the first semester of the 2024-25 school year.Students listed on the superintendent’s roll earned all A’s for the semester.Those on the principal’s roll earned no grade lower than a B.

Dover teams continue surges with sweep over Okeene

Steven Wayne Russell passed away Jan. 21, 2025.He was born in Oklahoma City on Aug. 20, 1965, to Richard and Imogene Russell and grew up in Kingfi sher, where he attended school.After that, he moved to Hugoton, Kan., where he married Michele Sullivan on Sept. 1, 1989.

Johnnie H. Yost, 78, passed away Jan. 26, 2025, in Oklahoma City.He was born Oct. 1, 1946, in El Reno to Herman and Betty Lou (Edward) Yost.Johnnie grew up in Omega. He attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in engineering.

James Neeland

James Lester Neeland was born July 30, 1944, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Lester and Theda Neeland. He passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025. He was raised in Kingfisher and graduated from Big Four High School. He served in the National Guard before graduating from Central State College in Edmond.
