For almost 50 years I’ve been making Christmas cookies using the same recipe. Then on Friday evening I was all fired up to make a batch of dough so I laid out two sticks of butter.The next morning they were still on the kitchen counter.

Farmerettes meet, elect new officers

The Hennessey Farmerettes met Nov. 13 at the First Christian Church with 10 members present.Prior to the meeting, members decorated cards and wrote thank-you messages to be presented to veterans in appreciation for their services.

Rowan, Young are November Junior Lions

Kingfisher High School seniors Gracie Rowan and Cooper Young were named the Junior Lions for November 2025.The two visited a pair of meetings last month as guests of the Kingfisher Lions Club.Rowan is the daughter of Jeremy and Melinda Rowan.

School board filings

Filing began for school board seats across the county on Monday morning.As of press time of this edition, only incumbents had filed for seats at they county’s school districts and no races had developed.
