Lomega’s Fisher to throw for SWOSU

Lomega senior Kinsley Fisher signed on Wednesday to continue her track and field career at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Fisher signed during a ceremony at the high school in front of family, coaches and classmates. As a junior, Fisher qualified for the state track and field meet in both the discus and the shot put. Her throw of 35 feet, 1 inch in the shot put was good for fourth place and a spot on the medal stand. It was just six inches shy of the gold medal-winning throw. She placed third in that event at the regional the previous week and also claimed the regional championship in the discus with a throw of 110-6. Fisher is seated in the center along with her parents Kevin and Lesley Fisher. They are joined by Lomega track coach Justin Edsall. Fisher qualified for the Class A state meet last year in both the discus and shot put, placing fourth and earning a spot on the medal stand in the latter.
