Dover School has seen its share of growth in the last year and is now working to keep up with it. School leaders were joined by students Wednesday as they broke ground on a new addition to the south end of school campus.

A MAJOR EVENT on the sun provided a natural phenomenon that’s normally reserved for those living well north to be experienced far south on Thursday, including Oklahoma. A solar storm, which is caused by “coronal mass ejections” on the sun, made its way to earth Thursday morning.

Community business leader and advocate for children and volunteering Judith “Judy” Johnson passed away Monday, Oct. 7.She was 79. A native of Duncan, she met Mike Johnson while attending Oklahoma State University.

Former coach Nall pleads no contest to felony charge

Attorneys seek to have case dismissed

Attorneys for Jeff Myers on Monday filed a motion to quash the state’s information in the case in which he’s been charged with felony child neglect.The motion was filed two days before Myers appeared before District Judge Paul Woodward at Kingfisher County District Court for his formal arraignment.

15 signed up for Firefighter 1 class at Hennessey FD

Hennessey Fire Department was recently approved to host an Oklahoma State Fire Association Firefighter 1 class.Those sessions will be held in the HFD’s station and new addition and run from Nov. 21 through Jan.

Barnett a guest at Rotary

Kingfisher High School senior Robert Barnett was a guest recently at a meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club. Barnett, pictured left, is the son of Robert and Amy Barnett. He’s active in football and wrestling, serving as captain on both teams, and baseball.
