Wildfires light up over warm, windy weekend

Kingfisher County commissioners got in some overtime over the weekend.All three responded to grass fires in Cimarron River pastures – one northeast of Kingfisher and the other near Lacey in the northwest corner of the county.

Early voting starts Thursday

Early voting begins Thursday, Feb. 29, for voters in Kingfisher County.The official voting day is Tuesday, March 5, for the presidential primary election.Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day have the option of voting early at their respective county election board.

Hennessey United board discusses Red Carpet Night plans, more

Plans for the annual Red Carpet Night, 90s ladies social and providing downtown flowers were discussed at the Thursday, Feb. 15, meeting of the Hennessey United Board of Directors.Cathy Howard, board secretary and chairman of the Red Carpet Night program, suggested April 18 for the event.

Lenten Services Continue This Week

The annual Lenten Community Service series sponsored by the Kingfisher Ministerial Alliance continue this week and will run through March 27.Each of the weekly services – with the exception of the final service on March 27 – will begin at noon and will be held at Frontline Ministries, 124 W. Erwin.
