Roedel receives 20-year sentence in shooting death

The man charged with the shooting death of a Kingfisher teen last year has pleaded guilty and been sentenced.Patrick Eugene Roedel, 19, was sentenced to 20 years with the Department of Corrections Tuesday in Kingfisher County District Court.All but the first four years of the sentence are suspended.

April showers finally provided significant moisture to portions of Kingfisher County Tuesday and Wednesday.Rainfall amounts ranged from .3 inch at the Cashion Grain and Feed Elevator to 3.4 inches at the Rick and Robin Johnston residence northwest of Dover.

$5 million sought in suit against KPS

The plaintiff in the lawsuit against Kingfisher Public Schools and current and former football coaches is demanding a $5 million settlement within two weeks as well as the firing of the head coach.If that time frame expires, the demand doubles to $10 million.

Akenhead hosts Farmerettes’ April meeting

The Hennessey Farmerettes met in the home of Jamie Akenhead for the group’s April meeting with nine members and two guests present.President Dot Miller opened the meeting and the pledge was given to the American flag. The devotion “A Good Day” was given by Mary Curry.
