Operation Christmas Child hosting leader workshop here

Operation Christmas Child volunteers are hosting two identical Project Leader Workshops on Saturday, Sept. 10. One workshop is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Kingfisher First Baptist Church, 1340 S. 13th St.The other is from 10 a.m. to noon at Yukon Church, 11715 NW 10th St.

2 local OBI blood drives are planned

Oklahoma Blood Institute has a pair of local blood drives planned this month.The first is Thursday, Sept. 15 at Chisholm Trail Technology Center.It will be from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.Interbank Community Room in Kingfisher, 320 N. Main St., will be the host of the other drive.

KPS board meets Tuesday

The Kingfisher Board of Education held its September regular meeting on Tuesday evening, after this edition went to press.The board generally meets the first Monday of each month, but was pushed back a day by the Labor Day holiday.

County joins state opioid settlement

Kingfisher County Commissioners voted Monday to participate in the settlement reached in the state’s litigation against three opioid distributors for their contribution to what was termed the Oklahoma opioid crisis.

Roads closing for construction

Kingfisher County Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny announced two upcoming road closures for bridge construction in District 3.County Road N 2700will be closed between E 720 road and E 730 road for bridge construction, beginning Sept. 12.
