The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:April 1, 2:33 p.m. - At North Sixth Street and East Miles Avenue.Donald Ludwig, 78, Okarche, driving a 2017 Ford Edge, was eastbound on East Miles Avenue and stopped at the intersection of North Sixth Street.

Hennessey Fire Department responds to calls

Hennessey Fire Department responded to the following recent calls:Grass fire —Two brush pumper trucks were sent to a reported grass fire 3 to 5 miles west on SH 51 at 3:23 p.m. Tues., March 19. The report was originally made to the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office.

Wheat prospects fell sharply across Kingfisher County last weekend when a rain system missed most of the county.Wheat is mostly headed out now and needs moisture badly if the crop in general is going to meet the county average.

Pioneer meeting Tuesday

Pioneer Telephone Cooperative’s annual meeting is scheduled Tuesday at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds.The event begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m. and entertainment provided by The Bonham Brothers.The business meeting starts at 1 p.m.

Local firm wins county camera contract

Upon further review of the bids, Kingfisher County Commissioners on Monday awarded a local company with the task of providing and installing security cameras at the courthouse.Glen’s Electric of Kingfisher was unanimously awarded the project during the commissioners’ weekly meeting.
