Voting starts Thursday for town, school seats

Early voting starts Thursday at the Kingfisher County Courthouse for the vacant Hennessey Town Board seat and primary elections for three county school board seats.Early voting is conducted outside the county election board office from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

Fair board vote slated

Three people are vying for the District 1 seat on the Kingfisher County Fair Board.Candidates include Zachary Laubach, Jon Butler and Terry LaBlue.Voting is from 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the Kingfisher County Courthouse lobby.

KMS students named to all-state choir

Four Kingfisher Middle School students recently earned a spot on the Oklahoma Music Educators Association (OKMEA) Children’s All-State Honor Choir.Selected were seventh graders Kya Bolner and Julianna Austin and sixth graders Shilo Willingham and Gisselle Ponce.

Hennessey’s board meets Saturday to make plans for future

Hennessey’s Board of Trustees have a long agenda Saturday, Feb. 5, for a planning meeting to discuss the future needs of the community.The meeting starts at 9 a.m. and will be held in the Seminar Room at the school auditorium.It’s being held there because it’s larger than the Town Hall board room.

OU announces local honor rolls for fall 2021

The University of Oklahoma announced recently the students named to its fall 2021 honor roll, a distinction given to those who achieve the highest academic standards.A total of 8,900 students were named to the fall 2021 honor roll.
