District Attorney Mike Fields of Enid, whose District 4 includes Blaine, Canadian, Garfield, Grant and Kingfisher counties, recently was installed as a member of the Oklahoma District Attorneys Association board of directors.

It has been discussed for the past two years but now Hennessey will start a wrestling program. That’s according to the list of coaching assignments made by the school board after a two hour executive session during their Monday, July 12 meeting.

Hennessey Public Schools’ general fund carryover into the 2021-22 year is $3.509 million as compared to $3.438 million at the start of the 2020-21 fiscal year. Superintendent Jason Sternberger said this year’s carryover is a little more than expected.

No appointment is needed for anyone ages 12 and up to get a free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in Hennessey Friday, July 23, from 10 a.m. until noon. The shots are offered by the Hennessey Public Schools and will be given in the seminar room at the school auditorium at 213 N. Walnut.

Garfield County OSU Cooperative Extension Family and Consumer Science Educator Joy Rhodes will be presenting a lesson in Kingfisher later this month. The topic will be “Taking Time for You.” The lesson is 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the Kingfisher County Extension Office.
