Wheat harvest gets started
The 2021 wheat harvest got under way Thursday in Kingfisher County.
Loads of wheat began arriving at elevators in Kingfisher and Okarche and a spokesman at CHS Elevator at Hennessey said he was expecting wheat to arrive there on Friday.
Board promotes Jay Wood to top KHS admin post
Jay Wood returned to his roots in 2015.
Now he’s sticking to those roots and carrying on a family tradition.
Wood was unanimously approved Monday as the new principal at Kingfisher High School at the June regular meeting of the Kingfisher Board of Education.

“At this time I’m planning to re-run,” Jech told members of the Kingfisher Lions Club as guest speaker on Thursday.
