Almost ready for traffic

A road project that’s not just several months in length - but several behind schedule - will wrap up in the coming weeks.Crews poured the final truckload of concrete Wednesday on the threemile stretch of Dover-Crescent Road that has been under construction much of the past year.

KHS STUCO making plans for homecoming

The Kingfisher High School Student Council has been planning diligently for the 2025 homecoming festivities.This year, homecoming will be held Friday, Sept. 19.The theme for homecoming this year is “Jacket Channel” and will be a Disney Channel spinoff theme.

Kingfisher County Court Clerk Lauren Stroh issued marriage licenses recently to the following couples: August 18: Jason Lee Wiebelt, 34, and Caitlin Elizabeth Fulton, 28, both of Crescent.August 22: Tanner Logan Emery, 22, and Victoria Rose Powell, 21, both of Kingfisher.

Kingfisher County Republican Women will continue a series of hosting gubernatorial candidates next week. The group hosts former Speaker of the Oklahoma House Charles McCall.He will share his vision at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Farm Bureau Insurance, 117 W. Sheridan.

A special meeting of Hennessey’s Utility Authority last week wasn’t only all about discussion with tech representatives who will provide new water meters.That’s because audience members did most of the questioning and talking at the Aug. 27 meeting.

Former superintendent Harrel dies

Former Kingfisher Public Schools superintendent Celo Jackson “Jack” Harrel - who served in that role two different times - died Saturday, Aug. 30.He was 82. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at Harvest Fellowship Church in Leedey.

NWOSU honor rolls listed

Summer honor rolls at Northwestern Oklahoma State University have been announced by the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Those on the President’s Honor Roll earned all A’s, or a 4.0 grade point average (GPA), in a minimum of 12 undergraduate or nine graduate hours.
