Cockayne shuts down Falcons in Dover win

Bryce Cockayne mowed down New Lima batters on Thursday to give Dover its first win of the season.The senior pitcher struck out 14 batters and gave up one hit as the Longhorns beat the Falcons 7-3 in the Dover Festival.

SOLID START

If the Kingfisher softball team is going to take the next step in 2025, it certainly managed a big first step on Tuesday night.A hot start at the plate, a superb performance in the circle and two late home runs from a senior led the Lady Jackets to a 6-2 victory at Bethany in their season opener.

After slow start, Okarche offense wakes up against Chattanooga

It took Okarche’s offense a few innings to get kickstarted.Once it did, the Lady Warriors had more than enough firepower to improve to 2-0 on the season.Okarche scored all its runs in its final three atbats Tuesday to earn a 7-1 victory at home against Chattanooga.

KHS game rained out

The same storm system that caused a lightning delay at the softball and baseball games in Okarche did one better for the Kingfisher High School softball team.The Lady Jackets’ expected season opener on Monday at Edmond Santa Fe was rained out.

Geheb leads Okarche past Am-Po in opener

Lawson Geheb spoke loudly with her right arm and her bat.Okarche got a win in its season opener to show for it.Geheb allowed just one run over seven innings while accounting for four runs of her own as the Lady Warriors downed Amber-Pocasset 6-1 Monday in Okarche.

Roby dominant in Okarche opener

Not even a lightning delay could deter Easton Roby.The Okarche senior was absolutely dominant on the mound Monday as the Warriors defeated Canute 2-0 in the season opener and a showdown of a pair of Class A’s top teams.

FALL BALL

LAWSON GEHEB and the Okarche Lady Warriors joined much of the rest of the state Monday in starting their respective fall seasons. The Lady Warriors downed Amber- Pocasset 6-1 at home to begin the 2025 fast-pitch softball campaign.
