The Town of Hennessey will soon be accepting applications for the director of the Hennessey Community Center (formerly the Senior Citizen Center).That job will now include being the cook in addition to day-to-day financial and other management duties.

The Hennessey Friends of the Library’s annual Pumpkin Patch opened last Saturday on Main Street.It is located south of the Hennessey Public Library and the Hennessey Fire Department.This year’s hours for sales are:• Monday-Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.;• Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond told Kingfisher Rotarians last Tuesday that there were more than 9,000 marijuana grow farms operating in Oklahoma when he took office in 2023 and now there are approximately 1,650 left.

The Kingfisher County Excise Board approved the county 2025 fiscal year budget of $44,044,257.66 Wednesday, up from the F.Y. 24 budget of $37,657,601.54.The budget will be financed with 10 mills of ad valorem tax plus carry- over from the preceding year’s budget.

A Kingfisher man who was denied by the city commission to have a property rezoned on Main Street is now asking the courts to overturn that decision.
