As Oklahomans woke up to start their work and school routines Wednesday, most had little idea State Superint endent of Public Instruction Ryan Wa l t e r s was beginning one of his final days in the statewide- elected job he has steered into TV cameras and controversy for the last three years.

The news of Ryan Walters’ intent to resign was met with a mix of emotions, though a heavy ingredient from the public school sector was joy.

The Chisholm, previously known as the Chisholm Trail Museum, has seen a lot of progressive changes since Jason Harris took over the role of executive director eight years ago.Under his guidance, the museum has gone from being on the verge of closure to a thriving part of the community.

Kingfisher County commissioners opened bids on two projects Monday and then tabled action on both to allow closer inspection.Two bids were opened on chip and seal work in all three districts, one from Circle Seal Paving of Goddard, Kan., and the other from Zyzer Asphalt and Chip Seal of Kingfisher.

Veronica and Jared Campbell of Helena announce the birth of their daughter, Bonnie Renae Campbell.Bonnie was born Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, in Enid.She weighed 7 pounds, 8.9 ounces and measured 20 3/4 inches.She has three siblings: Ellie, 6; Hazel, 3; and Lucy, 2.
