Trying to run down titles and records

In the final race of a long, grueling day, the Kingfisher High School girls track and field team pulled off a new school record…and almost a Class 4A regional championship.Scout Snodgrass torched the track for a 56.

Bell wins regional title in 2 events

Top-seeded Bulldogs down Jackets in regional title game

Kingfisher saw its 2026 baseball campaign come to a close Thursday, but not before winning three times as many games as a season ago.Top-seeded Sulphur completed the sweep through a 4A regional on its home field by knocking off KHS 13-2 in the title game.

Scout scoots to 2 more school records

Kingfisher notched 114 points Tuesday to claim the girls team championship at the 2026 Dennis Seifried Weatherford High School Invitational track and field meet.They also saw two school records go down in the process.

Longhorns headed back to state

Dover acted like it had been there before.On one hand, the Longhorns have. On the other, they haven’t in a dozen years.Either way, Dover is state tournament bound after a 10-1 thumping of Mountain View-Gotebo in Thursday’s Class B regional championship game.

Warriors dig it

Three games in and Okarche still hasn’t allowed a run in these playoffs.The Warriors will take that streak into the state tournament after they swept through their Class A-I regional.The finisher was a 6-0 victory against Thomas in Thursday’s regional championship game.

Jackets head south for baseball regional; Dover, Okarche at home

Kingfisher will travel to Sulphur for its Class 4A baseball regional this week. The teams opted to move up the regional a day, so it will begin Wednesday as opposed to Thursday. Following is the schedule for the regional: WednesdayGame 1 - 11 a.m., Sulphur vs. Madill Game 2 - 1:30 p.m.

Ladies lead the way at Skordle Relays

The Cashion girls placed sixth and Kingfisher seventh at last Friday’s Skordle Relays track and field meet in Cashion.The meet featured 25 schools as Stroud’s 63 points won the team title, edging Oklahoma Christian School and Elk City, both of which finished with 62.
Dover’s Kylee Bell cleared 11 feet in the pole vault (above) and Cashion’s Khloe Kastner covered 17 feet in the long jump at last week’s Skordle Relays. Bell won her event and set a new meet record. Kastner was second only to Oklahoma Christian School’s Reese Harjo. Both county athletes are the defending state champs in their respective classes. [KT&FP Staff Photos]

Wood becomes 2-time state qualifier

Dover senior Sam Wood is now a two-time state qualifier in golf.Wood, who last year became Dover’s first-ever qualifier in the sport, shot a 36-hole total of 150 on Monday in a Class 2A regional at Idabel Country Club.His score placed him 6th overall.
