Okarche, Dover one step away from state baseball

Okarche and Dover will continue their quests to reach the fall baseball state tournament this weekend.Top-ranked Okarche will host a Class A regional while Dover will travel to Stuart in Class B.

Longhorns win Class B district

Brennan Fletcher continued his production at the plate and Trypp Lack threw a complete game to help deliver a district baseball championship to Dover.The Longhorns downed Frontier 9-3 at home on Friday to complete their sweep of a Class B district and advance to this week’s regional.

Cashion Homecoming Court

CASHION HIGH SCHOOL will crown its 2025 football homecoming queen and king this Friday night. The Wildcats will host Watonga for the annual homecoming game. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Okarche softball regional schedule

Okarche will be the underdog this week when it takes part in a Class A fastpitch softball regional.The Lady Warriors will be the lowest-ranked team in the double-elimination tournament to be held at Arapaho-Butler.The host team is ranked No. 4 in the class with a 25-8 record.

Cashion Cheer Trifecta

There was no flat tire this time.But there will be another ring.Cashion High School bounced back from a disappointing performance at the regional to win a third consecutive Class 2A competitive cheer championship last Saturday at Union High School in Tulsa.

Okarche update

Okarche’s softball team is one win from a district title.The Lady Warriors downed Wellston 7-1 in a Class A district winner’s bracket game on Thursday after earning a bye in the first round.Okarche and Wellston played again at 2 p.m. Friday (after press time).

Eagles grind out 14-6 victory against Newkirk

It wasn’t pretty, but Mark Cox isn’t giving it back.The Hennessey Eagles won their second straight game Thursday night and started their district slate on a successful note with a 14-6 victory against Newkirk.

Stewart lowers the boom on Woodward

In a must-win game of sorts, Kingfisher softball coach Morgan Dutton handed the ball to her freshman pitcher.And Kennedy Stewart delivered once again.Stewart allowed just two hits on Thursday while shutting out Woodward in a 4-0 home win for the Lady Jackets.
