Conservatives often speak of Judeo-Christian values and how the current civil war in the United States and the rest of the West is essentially a battle between those values and the left, which rejects Judeo-Christian values. They are right. But they rarely explain what Judeo-Christian values are.

Funeral services for Betty ZumMallen will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Okarche. Burial will follow in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Come and go viewing will be held at Wilson Funeral Home (1612 S. Main, Kingfisher) from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 5.

The first super moon of 2021 made a bold appearance as it rose above the eastern horizon at dusk Sunday evening. “Super moons” are so named because they are full moons that occur when the moon’s elliptical orbit is closest to the earth.

Changes are coming for telephone customers in the 405 area code. Starting April 24, all local calls within the 405 area code will require 10 digit dialing (area code plus local number).

City-County Emergency Management Director Steve Loftis reported to county commissioners Monday that county coronavirus numbers had decreased to 70 but Hennessey had experienced another death, bringing the county’s fatality toll to 27.

Kid- and family-friendly Easter fun galore is in store Saturday in Kingfisher and Hennessey. The Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday in the field between Kingfisher Middle School and Heritage School.

Or maybe it’s the other way around; pets have people — (staff). We see many dogs riding in the front seat of their cars and pickups while their humans drive them around. There are also farm dogs, apparently, that ride in the bed of their pickups.
