Kingfisher County and its four neighboring counties saw a total increase of 501 active COVID-19 cases and 23 deaths in the first two weeks of 2021, according to Oklahoma State Department of Health online statistics.

Governor Kevin Stitt announced Friday that he is activating over 75 members of the Oklahoma National Guard to assist local law enforcement should any protests at the State Capitol or other locations turn violent in the coming week. Members of the guard will be activated from Saturday, Jan.

State Sens. Darcy Jech and Brent Howard invite citizens across western Oklahoma to participate in Oklahoma’s redistricting process by attending the Senate-sponsored town hall meeting in Clinton on Tuesday, Jan. 19. The meeting will be held at the Frisco Conference Center in Clinton at 6 p.m.

January sales tax was down for all Kingfisher County towns except Kingfisher and Loyal. Kingfisher’s increase was minimal, 1.9 % . Loyal’s tax rose by 18.1%. The slowdown in oilfield activity continues to negatively impact municipal and county sales and use tax revenue.

Two seats on the Hennessey town board, along with the treasurer and clerk positions, will be decided by municipal voters April 6. Candidate filing is Monday-Wednesday, Feb. 1-3, at the county election board.

There are secession rumors going on across the nation. Before anyone claims it’s Republicans talking that way, glance at the election map. States loving the constitution - the nation’s rule book-, are basically located in the Heartland, many of them adjoining each other.

Life as I knew it was over after COVID-19. I couldn’t taste, or smell anything! It hung on F-O-R-E-V-E-R. And trust me, I tried my best to find flavor in anything. Something salty. Sour. Vinegar chips!

Is it just me or has the entire universe of establishment media, politics and Hollywood forgotten that this country has endured an entire year of relentless violent anarchotyranny?
