Local Study Club holds November meeting

The Kingfisher Study Club met Nov. 3 at the First United Methodist Church. Terri Peck served donuts and coffee to members Joyce Brown, Martha Burditt, Nancy Cravens, Melda Fischer, Nancy Hasenfratz, Dawn Ann Mendenhall, Judy Pannell, Gerry Plummer and Karen Norton, guest of Hasenfratz.

ACS Baron’s Ball going virtual this year

Instead of the traditional boots and western garb, the attire this year for the American Cancer Society’s Cattle Baron’s Ball will be socks and flannel PJs, or whatever is comfortable for gathering around the computer. Like most other events, Cattle Baron’s Ball is going virtual at 7 p.m.

On Nov. 11, 1918, Allied nations and Germany signed an armistice to officially end World War 1. There is no one alive today to thank for their service in this war. The last known U.S. veteran of World War I was Frank Buckles who died Feb. 27, 2011, at the of 110.

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: October 20 - Frauds, cheats, false pretenses, and false personations over $1,000. Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of theft in the 200 block of South Fifth Street.

Paul ‘Mac’ Annuschat

Paul “Mac” Joseph Annuschat, 68, of Okarche, passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was the oldest child born July 19, 1952, to Arthur Frank Annuschat and Ruth Janet (Brueggen) Annuschat.

Nova Schutkesting

On Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, Nova Schutkesting, a loving wife, mother and grandmother passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord at age 93. She was at her residence, Franklin Park Sonterra in San Antonio, Texas. Nova was born Oct. 23, 1927, in Tecumseh to Ryce and Alma McLaughlin.
