Kingfisher track repairs to start Monday

Repairs to the track at the Kingfisher Public Schools walking complex is expected to keep it out of commission for the rest of this month. Kingfisher Superintendent Jason Sternberger told school board members at their meeting on Monday that the repairs are expected to begin Monday, Oct. 12.

County commissioners update jail medical staffing pact

County commissioners on Monday made quick work of a brief agenda during their regular weekly meeting. The trio unanimously approved a contract with Turn Key Health Clinics of Oklahoma City to provide medical staffing and related administrative services for the county jail.

State’s transportation commission awards project bids Monday

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission awarded project bids Monday during its regular October meeting. Two of those projects will take place in House District 59, which is represented by House Majority Leader Mike Sanders. One of them is in Kingfisher County.

Traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents have been or are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department: August 27, 4:57 p.m. - At Main Street and Bowman Avenue. Candace Johnson, 67, Candace Johnson, 67, Kingfisher, driving a 2017 GMC, was northbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81.

Catherine Schwarz

Catherine Gay Schwarz passed away Oct. 1, 2020, surrounded by family in Stillwater. Cathy was born in Kingfisher on Sept. 8, 1935. She married Michael Schwarz II, on Feb. 2, 1956.
