Marriage Licenses
Kingfisher County Court Clerk Lisa Markus issued marriage licenses recently to the following couples:
July 17: Brooks Ryan Nyce, 64, and Patricia Jane PRice, 64, both of Enid.
District 1 County Commissioner Jeff Moss reported Monday that work will start Sept. 7 to clean borrow ditches and tin horns on College Hill.
He said work will be scheduled between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. in order to avoid traffic congestion as much as possible.
Samuel Allen Forman, 31, was born on Sept. 18, 1988, and got his “Angel Wings” too soon, passing away Aug. 7, 2020, at his home in Huntington Beach, Calif., due to complications from COVID-19 he’d already beat.
Samuel was born and raised in Kingfisher and had three older brothers and two sisters.
Karen Sue Ondak, 68, formerly of Powell, Wyo., passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, in Tulsa with her daughters at her side.
Karen was born Jan. 7, 1952, at War Memorial Hospital in Powell, Wyoming. She was the middle of three children born to Imogene and Glennis Montgomery.
Chalk up another win for Maddi Kamas.
The state’s top junior female golfer stormed from behind Sunday to win the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour’s Kickingbird Fall Challenge by four strokes.
Kamas shot a 2-under-par 68 in Sunday’s second round for a two-day total of 141.
The Kingfisher softball team was runner-up of its own tournament for a second straight year, but, ironically, defeated the eventual champion.
The Lady Jackets went 4-1 last weekend in their own Highway 33 Classic.
All four local football teams are once again taking advantage of Week 0 to open their 2020 campaigns.
