The Democratic National convention, or circus, we pretty much knew how it was going to turn out. The speakers fairly well bashed the president, not surprised.

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission recently approved the County Improvements for Roads and Bridges (CIRB) plan for state Fiscal Years 2021 through 2025 at its Aug. 3 meeting.

Too often, colleges and universities around the country don’t provide transparent budgets. They aren’t accountable to policymakers and taxpayers. It’s human nature to want to use money flexibly—and usually, it’s good policy to work with that desire.

The Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative’s (OHAI) Center of Healthy Aging is planning a “Healthy Brain, Healthy Mind” virtual program. Classes will be each Monday from Aug. 31 through Sept. 28 (with the exception of Labor Day, Sept. 7).

The opportunity for Oklahomans to be counted in the U.S. Census is only weeks away and officials are concerned about participation.

Trevor and Vanessa Wilczek of Kingfisher announce the birth of their daughter, Kamber Ann Wilczek. She was born at 6:55 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2020, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She weighed 9 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 22 inches.

Her job is about much more than disseminating pandemic information, but Taylor Shelton, new health educator at the Kingfisher County Health Department, is also prepared for that discussion.

They had to sweat it out until the very end, but the Dover Longhorns on Thursday managed to grab their first win of this fall baseball season. After building a comfortable lead, the Longhorns held on in the top of the seventh to down Mulhall-Orlando 5-3 at home. The win upped their mark to 1-3.

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: August 6 - Identity theft. Officer Dustin Brodrick took a report of identity theft. Stephen Powers reportedly stated a fraudulent unemployment claim had been filed in his name. August 7 - DUI-Liquor or drugs.
