Hennessey First-Timers

Thursday was 41 new pre-k students’ first experience of Hennessey Public School. Friday was Gov. Kevin Stitt’s. Superintendent Dr. Mike Wood hosted State Sen. Chuck Hall, Stitt and State Rep.-elect Mike Dobrinski on a tour of the campus.

Reynolds named to commission

Richard Ray Reynolds was named to round out the Kingfisher City Commission at a special meeting Wednesday night. Reynolds will be sworn in and seated at Monday’s regular August meeting to fill the post vacated by Roxie Alexander when she was elected mayor.

Bridge Repair

PHILLIPS BRIDGE over Kingfisher Creek on E 760 Road at Lemon Road is one of eight Kingfisher County repairs listed by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to be financed through the 2021-22 County Improvements to Roads and Bridges Fund.

Parents object to honor grad policy

Arthur “Max” Castonguay was born April 19, 1939, to Arthur and Earnestine Castonguay in Kingfisher and passed away Aug. 2, 2020. Max attended Omega School and graduated in 1957. Following his graduation, he began farming from 1957-1989.
