Banther busy keeping county’s cars clean

One of Kingfisher’s youngest entrepreneurs told Kingfisher Lions Club members about his booming business. Noah Banther, 19, informed Lions during Thursday’s address that he currently has two full-time employees at Banther Auto Detailing.

Kingfisher Police Department reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: July 16 - Harassment and malicious injury/destruction of property. Officer Charles Trout responded to a report of property damage and possible harassment in the 500 block of South Eighth Street.

Traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:July 26, 11:45 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and S.H. 33. Adrianna Silvia Garcia, 19, Kingfisher, driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, was southbound in the outside lane of U.S. 81 and stopped at the traffic light of S.H.

Death Notice

Michael “Moe” Moore, 71, died July 28, 2020, in Garber. He was born in Kingfisher and graduated from Hennessey High School. Services were scheduled for10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel in Enid with Rev. Mark Hein officiating. A full obituary will appear in Wednesday’s edition.

School districts finalizing plans after state vote

In the wake of a 4-3 vote by the State Board of Education last week declining to issue mandatory statewide coronavirus regulations, county school districts are working to finalize local plans for starting the 2020-21 school year in a few weeks.

County’s total cases up, active cases down

Kingfisher City-County Emergency Manager Steve Loftis reported Monday that the county’s COVID-19 cases continue to rise but not every day. He told county commissioners at their weekly meeting that the county has registered a total of 79 cases with 19 still active.

Accolades keep coming for Lofton

Even in retirement, Curtis Lofton can’t help but haul in football honors. The Kingfisher High School product was recognized earlier this month by the National Football League team that drafted him more than 12 years ago.
