KPS school supply lists online

Kingfisher Public Schools released its school supply lists early this week. The lists are for kindergarten, first and second graders at Gilmour Elementary; third and fourth graders at Heritage; and fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders at Kingfisher Middle School.

Cyber security concern causes member’s no vote

Hennessey school board member Luke Lough said he was “not comfortable” going into executive session during the board’s July 13 meeting. He voted not to have the closed session on personnel, and left the meeting after the 3-1 vote.

Only Dover of Kingfisher County municipalities had a gain in its sales tax check in July. Kingfisher County’s check also took a major hit – down 69.6 percent as the coronavirus national shutdown and the drop in the county’s oilfield activity took its toll.

Marriage Licenses Kingfisher County Court Clerk Lisa Markus issued marriage licenses recently to the following couples: June 24: Andrew Robert Perry, 20, and Danne Beathy Baylee, 22, both of Cashion. June 25: Ryan James Cass, 28, and Alicia Ann Burgess, 29, both of Yukon.

Friday is deadline for supply drive app

With the beginning of school nearing, that also means it’s time for school supplies. Kingfisher Community Collaborative is once again helping provide supplies for families who might need assistance. KCC is taking applications from now through Friday, July 24.

Rain report

Thunderstorms Monday evening left only .05 inch rain in Kingfisher. Local Weather Observer Steve Loftis reported that amount at the National Weather Service station in Kingfisher and the Mesonet site on the Mueggenborg farm west of Kingfisher concurred.

Campbell guides West to All-State golf victory

He didn’t get a senior season, but Colby Campbell got one last high school victory. Campbell on Monday helped the West defeat the East 8.5.-6.5 in the All-State Golf Tournament at Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City.
