An added $5 per hour in hazard pay was approved for Hennessey school cooks, custodians, secretaries, business office personnel and other hourly employees required to work March 23- May 8.

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: May 2 - Identity theft. Officer Justin Trumbley took a report of identity theft. Stephen Rempe reportedly stated he was contacted regarding a claim for unemployment benefits using his Social Security number.

The Center of Family Love has experienced its first confirmed case of COVID-19 on its main campus in Okarche. One of the 130 intellectually and physically disabled individuals the organization serves tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.

Betty Waters Grimm

Betty Zoe Waters was born Nov. 22, 1926, in Davenport and departed this life on May 11, 2020, at the Homestead Assisted Living in Wellington, Kan. She was 93 years old. Betty was the daughter of Alfred Parks and Mildred Leona (Townsley) Waters.

Joyce Lorenz

Joyce Louise Rohling Lorenz was born Jan. 30, 1943, in Watonga to Deak and Louise Rohling and passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 12, 2020, at the age of 77. Joyce was a lifelong resident of Watonga and member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
