Victoria Gerken and Elizabeth Perdue, both seniors at Kingfisher High School, paged for House Majority Leader Mike Sanders the week of Feb.10-13 at the state Capitol. Gerken is the daughter of David and Cara Gerken.

Tom Holliday told Kingfisher Rotarians that even the grass inside Oklahoma State University’s new baseball stadium will be worth the price of admission to a game this season. Holliday, a former longtime OSU baseball coach, spoke Tuesday to the Kingfisher civic group.

Bookcase Review Club to meet

Kingfisher County Bookcase Review Club will hold its next meeting Monday, Feb. 24. The group will meet at 11:30 a.m. at Farm Bureau Insurance, 117 W. Sheridan Ave., Kingfisher.

Four students from Chisholm Trail Technology Center

Four students from Chisholm Trail Technology Center competed Feb. 14 in the Division SkillsUSA contest for Automotive Service Technology. These four students won the local contest held at CTTC, with three high school students and one adult being chosen to move on to division contest at Fairview.

Kornelius Schellenberg

Kornelius Schellenberg, 66, of Omega, passed away on Feb. 14, 2020, surrounded by family and friends. Kornelius was born to parents Heinrich and Katherina Schellenberg in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico, on Dec. 18, 1953. He grew up in Campo 26, Mexico, where he attended the local Mennonite school.

Not too many girls basketball programs can say they gave up 17 points in the first quarter of a game…and still led by 20. Of course, Lomega isn’t your ordinary program.

Wrestlers vie for state spots this weekend

Kingfisher and Cashion will send wrestlers to regional tournaments this weekend with hopes of being able to qualify for state. Regionals for all classifications are Friday and Saturday. Kingfisher will compete in a 4A regional at Tuttle. Cashion will be taking part in the 3A regional at Geary.
