Ahlden land a Centennial Farm

Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer Lynda Ozan announced that an Oklahoma Centennial Farm Award has been presented to the owner of a Kingfisher County farm.Warren Ahlden of Okarche owns the Warren Ahlden Farm located in the vicinity of Okarche.

Hennessey library receives Health Literacy Grant

Hennessey Mayor Bert Gritz and Library Director Ruth Ann Replogle are all smiles over the town’s $3,750 Health Literacy Grant from the State Department of Libraries and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Chad and Allison Hurst of Hennessey announce the birth of their son, Grayson Michael Hurst. Grayson was born Sept. 4, 2019, at OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. He weighed 5 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 18 1/2 inches. He has one brother, Brendon, 11.

Better late than never for KHS

Simply put, things appeared bleak in the first half last Friday night. Kingfisher trailed winless Mannford 14-0 on the road and were an overthrown ball from being down three scores.

Cashion puts away foe early

Alex Nabavi got Cashion’s scoring assault going on the ground. Ben Harman finished it through the air. Nabavi returned the opening kickoff for a score and Harman threw six touchdown passes last Friday to lift Cashion to a 44-0 victory at Elmore City-Pernell.

HHS can’t maintain momentum

One week after being nearly unstoppable, Hennessey’s offense went back into a shell as the Eagles stayed winless this season. Perry’s Mason Drake threw for seven touchdowns on his home turf and the Maroons defense put the clamps on HHS in a 58-0 victory last Friday night.

Kamas finishes strong to claim OJGT championship

Even rust from a few weeks off couldn’t keep Maddi Kamas from the Tour Championship title of the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour. Kamas shot a final-round 1-under-par 70 Sunday at Shawnee Country Club to claim the season-ending tournament title by two strokes with a two-day total of 144.

Crossings too much for Crescent

Crescent had more plays than Crossings Christian School last Friday night. The Knights just made their snaps count more. Owen Crotts threw four touchdown passes as CCS toppled the Tigers 41-14 in Crescent.
