CHS CHEER AT J&C CAMP

Cashion High School cheerleaders recently attended Jeff and Craig Cheer Camp held June 7-9 in Norman. The group received multiple awards, including as Dynamite Sticks, Champions Cup, Top Team Motions and performance awards.

Lonny Patton, Sr.

Lonny James Patton, Sr., 61, Kingfisher, passed away at home Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 8, at Dover Cemetery, officiated by Gary Jones, Jr. Lonny was born Feb. 18, 1958, in Seagraves, Texas, to Emmett and Morene (Shirley) Patton.

Bill Parham, 95, Kingfisher, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Kingfisher Cemetery.

Iris Deurmyer

Iris Dean Deurmyer (Davis), 71, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019. Iris was born in Edmond on April 13, 1948, to Gladys Davis. She grew up on the Christner family homestead farm near Cashion.

Mable Eaton Meyer

Mable Ruth Eaton Meyer was born Jan. 12, 1933, to Mono and DeEtte Eaton. She went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2019, at the age of 86. Mable grew up in and graduated from Big Four School. After she graduated, Mable started working as a surgical tech at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Holiday, rain delay harvest end

Wednesday showers and the July 4th holiday delayed a wrap-up of the 2019 wheat harvest in Kingfisher County. Local Weather Observer Steve Loftis reported an additional .11 inch of moisture falling in Kingfisher at midweek, registering .01 inch on Wednesday and .10 inch on Thursday.
