Not a Bad Problem to Have

Kingfisher Public Schools had a spending problem in the 2018-19 fiscal year…it couldn’t spend enough.Despite a vast array of improvements, teacher raises, teacher stipends and classroom improvements in the last calendar year, the school district’s carryover continues to swell.

Hennessey, Cashion set July 4 events

Hennessey’s Lions Club will be joined by other groups Thursday, July 4, at Bullfoot Park for games and fishing competitions for children and corn hole and horseshoe tournaments for the adults. There will also be inflatables for the youngsters and music for everyone, say planners.

2 local women earn licenses from LTCA

Two area residents received licenses last week from the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners for Long Term Care Administrators. Kaci Farrar of Kingfisher was licensed last week as a nursing home administrator and Mary Beth Harris was licensed as a certified assistant administrator.

Bradley has strong showing at 4-H horse show

Maddie Bradley of Cashion competed at the West District 4-H horse show at the Stephens County Fairgrounds in Duncan and brought home several titles. Bradley, the daughter of Shaun and Megan Bradley and the granddaughter of Gary and Deborah Maxon, also of Cashion, placed first in senior showmanship.
