County OKs new Cashion housing addition

Kingfisher County commissioners approved the plat of Cashion Estates at their weekly meeting Monday. The housing development planned one mile north of present Cashion town limits will contain 90 residential lots, according to the plat signed by commissioners.

Blackwood seeking Okarche town post

Kingfisher County Extension hosts healthy cooking workshop

Kingfisher County hosted a Healthy Alternative Cooking workshop for the members of the community on March 12. Lindy Hoel, the Family and Consumer Science educator, was the instructor and provider of the supplies and materials.

Museum director speaks to retired educators

Study Club elects new officers at March meeting

Kingfisher Study Club met March 6 in the parlor of the First United Methodist Church with Martha Burditt serving as hostess and Gerry Plummer co-hostess. Fourteen members were present as President Carlene Gooden led the business meeting.

Wittrock receives KHS Photography ‘torch’

Junior Hayden Wittrock, left, received the “torch” of leadership  for KHS Photography from Senior Chief Photographer Rob Gruntmeir. Gruntmeir will serve as the “Chief Emeritus” helping Wittrock, the new chief photographer, learn his role of leading the student photography staff.

Lacy School reunion is planned May 25

A social and catered meal is scheduled for the Lacy School Reunion, announced Cathy Sturgeon Howard, Class of 1967. The reunion is planned Saturday, May 25 (Memorial Day weekend). The social starts at 4:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m at the Hennessey Senior Citizen Center, 620 E. 2nd St.

Bookcase Review Club set to meet March 25

Kingfisher Bookcase Review Club is set to meet this week. The group will gather March 25 at the Farm Bureau Insurance Building, 117 W. Sheridan, Kingfisher. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and that will be followed by a presentation by Jeanne Morgan of Oklahoma City.

Jackets enter break with 8-0 mark

A trio of doubles in the ninth inning last Saturday helped Kingfisher’s baseball team enter Spring Break still undefeated. Sophomore Ian Daugherty’s one-out double in the top of the ninth kick-started Kingfisher’s offensive rally in a 7-6 extra-inning win at Weatherford.
