A Kingfisher man and former local bank vice president is facing a federal charge of defrauding the bank of nearly $900,000.Timothy Shane Abercrombie, 42, was charged April 1 with bank fraud in the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.

Kingfisher County commissioners have approved a notice to proceed for county chip and seal projects scheduled this summer.The winning bidder, Circle C Paving and Construction of Lawton, has indicated it will begin work on the projects in May.

THE KINGFISHER HIGH SCHOOL choir received the highest possible score at the OSSAA state contest held April 3 at Stillwater High School. Directed by Diann Magnus, the choir received “superior” ratings from all three judges.

Kingfisher High School seniors Jake Sisk and Hailey Crosswhite are the April 2025 Junior Lions.The two were guests at a recent meeting of the Kingfi sher Lions Club.Sisk is the son of Trent and Marie Sisk.

REAL WARRIORS – Each month students at Okarche Elementary School are recognized for a good character trait and announced as REAL Warriors honorees. In the month of March, the character trait was “creativity.” REAL is an acronym for Respect, Effort, Attitude and Leadership.
