Job ‘Sparks’ excitement in District 2

There was a new feature in the Hennessey Christmas parade Thursday night – Commissioner District 2 road graders sporting Christmas lights brought from home by shop employees.

Okarche to take on 5A’s East Central to open TOC

The Okarche boys will be a part of the field later this month at the 60th Tournament of Champions in Tulsa.It will be played Dec. 29-31 at the BOK Center.Ranked No. 1 in Class A, Okarche drew Class 5A’s East Central in the first round.

Lady Wildcats still getting defensive

Cashion’s defense stifl ed another foe and led to the Lady Wildcats’ second straight win to open the season.Playing Morrison at home, Cashion surrendered only six points through three quarters in an eventual 54-16 victory on Friday.

Lady ‘Horns have no answers in KHS win

Kingfisher’s first two opponents are at the opposite ends of the spectrum.Merritt, the Lady Jackets’ season opening foe, is coming off two consecutive trips to the 2A state tournament and will be joining KHS at the Bertha Frank Teague Mid-America Classic later this month.

Dover girls 4th in Stampede

Dover managed a comeback win to open the Mustang Stampede, but eventually settled for fourth place in the tournament.The Lady Longhorns downed Ringwood 38-36 in last Thursday’s quarterfinal round.

Jackets ready to grapple with season

Duals may be a struggle for the Kingfisher High School boys wrestling team this season.Tournaments, however, may offer a chance for more success.“I’m excited for the upcoming season and optimistic about the individual success our wrestlers can achieve,” said coach Steven Wilson.

County grads to earn UCO degrees this weekend

The University of Central Oklahoma will celebrate the achievements of approximately 1,068 fall graduates during the Fall 2025 Commencement Ceremonies Dec. 12-13, in Central’s Hamilton Field House.UCO President Todd G. Lamb will give remarks at each of the university’s four ceremonies.
