    Wilfred ‘Bill’ Rund

Wilfred E. “Bill” Rund died Sept. 25, 2019, at St. Katharine Drexel Retirement Center in El Reno.  

A prayer service will be 7 p.m. Sunday and Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, both services will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche with Rev. Cory Stanley and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating.  

Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home, El Reno.

Bill was born Aug. 11, 1924, in Okarche the son of Valentine “Val” and Marie Jacobs Rund.   

A lifelong resident of the community, he managed multiple propane companies.  

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters and retired from the Okarche Volunteer Fire Department.

On Jan. 15, 1946, Bill married Irene Frances Koetter. Irene preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 2014.  

Bill was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers Paul Rund, George Rund, his twin brother, Wilbert “Bud” Rund, Tom Rund and Jack Rund; and sisters Marge Ogle, Anne Myers, Rita Adams and Loretta Rund.

Bill is survived by a son, Butch Rund and wife Mary Beth of Okarche; daughters Karen Cupp and husband Gary of Broken Arrow, Debbie Pickett and husband Pete of Oklahoma City, and Connie Fretz of Overland Park, Kan.; sisters Betty Jo Shultz of Kingfisher, Rosemary “Curly” Uland of Carrollton, Texas, Helen Henderson and Bonnie Rund both of Okarche; and 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
